I make such interesting observations on the metro, if not daily then at least once every two weeks. Today there was this father with his two daughters and his son, son may have been 3, and the girls 5 and 8. Anyway, of course these horrible brats darling children thought of the train as the perfect place to beat each other senseless, or at least the youngest girl thought it was a good idea to paint the inside of the train with her brothers blood and, surprise, surprise, these children have the lamest father in the universe. “No, don’t do that. Listen to me, please stop. Why can’t you just stop when I tell you to. Stop it…” and so on in the lowest voice ever. It kept on going like that until the lovely young girl had kicked her brother in the face and her father grabbed her to tell her to stop, and what do you know, this darling child starts punching her own father while screaming because she thought is was a really great idea to beat her brother and couldn’t believe why she wasn’t allowed to rip his eyes out.
I may be a bit medieval when it comes to raising children… but if I had been hitting any of my parents after not listening for ten minutes and behaving like nuts… I’m not saying that you should physically punish on your children (because that is a bit over the top), but no child has ever died from a few sharp words including some following kind of fun punishment like no tv for a small lifetime until they learn to behave in public. Another option may be to send them back to the zoo
Nothing to add to this sharp observation and conclusion really. Maybe one small comment stating that children are the real losers of such a situation, since they are the ones not taught to socialise, and they will get badly hit by the reality of life at latter stages… And that is something much more frustrating than some well placed and timed fatherly slaps would have been. Anyhow, people feel the urge to populate our world with egocentric weirdos nowadays…
